Brag Book

Hello all my crafty friends!

I have been asked to create some kind of brag book. Showing off photos of your kids, grand kids and pets is top of your list!  So here it is.  Small, compact, durable and super simple to do.

It truly took me under two hours to put this book together.  You will love how easy it is to do.  This is a great project for the upcoming holidays....you can whip up half a dozen in no time!

Pocket Page Mini Album

I have a  new project for you.  I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get something scheduled for Hobby Lobby.  I've been a bit bogged down with other projects.  So here it is.  This project would be so great as a gift for the upcoming holidays.  I think it's actually perfect for Thanksgiving!  Especially if you are having a big family get together.

Kaisercraft Catalog Envelope Mini

Hello all my crafty friends!

I'm a bit behind in getting things up here on the blog! I've been busy working on expanding my work room, which is great fun but a bit of work as well.  Taking out walls sure makes a mess!

So here is my next project at Hobby Lobby.  This little album is super cute and EASY!  and really not many materials involved in the building of the album.  You will be able to really fill this one up with photos as the binding allows for a lot of expansion.

Prima's Stationer's Desk Big Book

Hello all my crafty friends!

My next big studio project will be the Stationer's Desk album.  This paper is made by Prima and it is just gorgeous! 

Although this album is "big" it really is not tough to put together.  The page construction is really quite simple.

You could do this album with any paper.  I can see this as a wedding album, a kid themed album..just about anything. If you choose to use this paper line, I will need to order it for you.  It's  not available locally. 

I don't have a schedule for this project yet.  If you are interested in this project, give me a shout and we will work out the details.  I anticipate this being a 3 class day project.

It's a Handbag, It's a Backpack

Oh so cute!  This was so much fun to do.  This would be so great done with paper for a bridal shower....a diaper bag for a new baby or even in an animal print...can you say doggy bag?

Embellishment Class

Hello all my crafty friends!

One of the things I hear a lot...."I don't know how to embellish my album"....so I thought we could work on that.

I decided to break up embellishing into different parts.  I learned the hard way not to throw out to much info at one time!  So we will start with basic tools and move on from there....stayed tuned for more embellishment classes.

This little album is super fast, super easy and super cute!  It's a snap to put together...with some helpful hints of course!

This would make a great gift for a friend, co-worker, new baby or a grandparent.  Supplies are minimal....which makes it super affordable to do more than one!

Flower, flowers and more flowers....Oh my!

Hello all my crafty friends,

As promised here is a quick video of the upcoming flower class.  

I finally had the chance to get this up here.  It's been a busy week so far...and it's only Wednesday!  

The flowers are made with fabric, not paper.  They look a lot softer and don't have the hard edges that paper flowers do.  You won't need the flower shaping tools that go along with paper flowers, which makes these really simple to do.  I had to make myself stop so I could get this up!  My work table is covered in flowers.....and that is way fun!

Unfortunate Incident

Hello all my crafty friends!

Most of you know that I don't go into town unless I absolutely have to.  Tonight I wanted a night off and dinner with my husband...I had Chinese food on the brain!  

After grabbing a bite to eat, I needed to hit HL for a couple of things.  As most of you know, I've had a tough time with the display there and it finally got moved.....great right?  Maybe not....

My latest display project seems to have walked out the door......it's just gone......how heartbreaking to think that someone needed to have it so badly, they took it.....WOW.....just WOW!  I  hope they enjoy all of my hard work!

I do have another to go up on display, but it will not be exactly the same.  I'm sorry about that but I don't have the time to do another one just like it.  Hopefully you can view it here on the blog.

I've discussed this issue with store management and it's up to me to make sure my stuff doesn't disappear.  After tossing around a few ideas, I think I have come up with a solution.  I apologize in advance for the "chains" hooked to my stuff!  I think it will probably be the only way to keep it in the store for your viewing pleasure!

Back to Basics #2

I have FINALLY found a web cam that does a decent job...It only took trying out 5 or 6 of the darn things!  So I think I'm done photographing the projects for the blog here.   This is so much easier....and just so you know...I'm laughing at myself for not figuring that out before now......SO

Here is the next project scheduled at Hobby Lobby......Back to Basics #2.  Although it looks like it is complicated, it really is simple to put together and complete.  This album was sized and designed to use the page kits, like album #1.  It's just put together in a different way.  Flaps and pockets and magnets OH MY!

Triple Play Boxed Set

This one is so fun.....and simple!  Maybe you have vacations photos from several different trips.....or a few special grandkids?  You can put all of those precious memories in one compact place...

 This boxed set holds 3 mini albums.  The albums all have six pages and each page will hold 4 photos....that's 24 photos in each album!  and 72 photos total!

Each page in the album is actually a pocket page, sized and designed to hold a 4x6 photo with no trimming or cutting....how cool is that!

This will make a great gift for your non-scrapping friends....just stick photos in!

Hello all my crafty friends!

I have another small mini for you......along the same lines as the Easy Peasy albums.  This is a library pocket style mini with a new binding technique.  Every page is actually a pocket that holds a photo mat or two.

 This little mini measures about 4x6...perfect for a quick gift.

 I did this little album in two different papers......

 Wouldn't this make a cut baby album?  or graduation album?  It could have a ton of different looks depending on the paper you choose.

Although I have done these with cardstock and a 6x6 paper pad, you could do this with the double sided paper used for the Easy Peasy series.

Easy Peasy Album Series

Hello all my crafty friends!

The different Penny Pinching series albums that I have done seemed to be a big hit!  So with that in mind I've been creating more albums using a minimum of supplies.

I have created 3 different albums with just ONE stack of paper!  Yup, you read that right....ONE stack of paper and I had leftovers.   ( I think I might be able to come up with at least one more...I'll work on that!)

Unlike the previous albums, the pages in these little cuties are made from the paper themselves....not card stock.  Score, cut, fold....instant page!  Easy Peasy!

All of these little albums have a ton of room for photos.....even 5x7!  They are super simple to make and would make quick, inexpensive gift.

I had so much fun constructing this album.  The paper was just beautiful and the images are stunning.

Penny Pinching Continues

Hello all my crafty friends,

The Penny Pinching Series continues.....this time with file folders?  HUH?  WHAT?  I know...funny but the material is great to work with.

This is album #1....it folds open 3 different ways and has room for tags.

These little albums are fast, fun and simple to do.  You can embellish them as much or as little as you want. 

 This is style #2.....I love this one!  It has room for room for a lot of photos with side loading pockets and top loading pockets as well.

If you really are not into the whole grungy look...how about this one?  It's the same little album just with different paper.

 And here is #3....  This one is a bit larger but just as fast and simple.

Hello all my crafty friends,

So in response to all of the questions I have been receiving about the flower class....

We will be using JUST the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die. 

Class will be Saturday February 8th  10am-2pm ish or until you have had enough flower making.

There is no charge for this class.

Please bring:

A TON of pre-cut flowers....cut from card stock, paper and or double sided paper.
Hot glue gun
Heat tool or hair dryer
Small spray bottle of water
Flower shaping tools OR mouse pad and a sharpie
Brads
Scissors and pencil
Piercing tool or something to make a hole with.

These are the tools that I use.....but keep in mind you don't need them.  The sharpie works great as it has a nice round end on it.  That is really all you need....something with a smooth round end and a cushion of some sort....the mouse pads work just fine.

This the the McGill flower tool set.  I know that Hobby Lobby does have this and I think it's around $15...use your coupons! There is a shaping mat that goes along with this kit but I'm not sure how much it is.

These are Sculpey clay tools and they work great as well.  Both of them come together and the cost is $9.99 at Jo Anne's. You really don't want the set that has the changeable ends.....I have tried them and these work better.

All 3 albums were made with ONE 12x12 paper stack, ONE package of 25 count 12x12 card stock, ONE package of 12 paper bags and ONE package of mini paper bags.

Penny Pinching Album Series.....

Hello all my crafty friends!  I've been working hard to design something new.....and affordable for you.  I think I hit the mark!

I'm calling these albums my Penny Pinching series.  This will be a series of three classes, making 3 different album styles with only ONE paper stack, ONE package of envelopes and ONE package of 12x12 card stock....Now That's pinching pennies!  You will use the same supplies for all 3 classes!
