Hello all my crafty friends!

I hope that you had the most wonderful Christmas and are enjoying a bit of a slow down into the new year!  I know that I am.  Spending time with Nathan and just being lazy has been really good for my crafty mojo!

So here is the first project of the new year.  If you are an experienced papercrafter,  you will enjoy the simplicity of putting this together.  If you are a beginner, this is a terrific project for you to jump right in and get started!

For the beginners, if you do not own all of the tools that are in the basic tool kit, please don't let that stop you from coming to class. I ALWAYS bring extra paper trimmers and score boards to class.  Be sure to check the tab here on the blog labeled "BASIC TOOLS".

This class will be January  7th.....as always, check the Hobby Lobby Tab for all the details.

I hope to see you soon!

Christmas Germs..

Oh my gosh...I'm so sorry to have to do this.  I am cancelling the class in my studio on Sunday the 18th.  I'm sick!

My husband has had a really bad cold.....really bad.  He NEVER gets sick!  Which to me says it was a bad bad bug! and  as hard as he tried to keep it to himself I have ended up with it.

I'm so so sorry to those of you who wanted to do this.  I'm not sure if I will reschedule this for after Christmas??

Again, I'm sorry....but I would rather cancel than take a chance on spreading the germs to you!  Being sick during Christmas would not be fun!

Custer Christmas Show

Hello all my crafty friends!

I've been meaning to sit down for just 5 minutes and jot off a quick post....finally here I am.

Most of you know that I am going to participate in the Custer Arts and Craft show this year.....it starts tomorrow!!!!  (Friday)

I've been really nervous about "selling" my creations, so wish me luck.  It is actually thanks to all of you pushing me to do this that I'm actually doing it.......you and my husband Nathan.  Can't forget him.  He's been chirping in my ear for a couple of years now.

My focus has always been teaching...it's what I really want to be doing.  Not sitting in my work room producing stuff.  Gee whiz...I did that for years as a baker!  Production is boring!!!!!  So, this show really is just to get my feet wet and see how things go.....

Anyhow.....I hope that you will consider doing some shopping at the show this year.  Not just my booth...lol...but help to support another artist or two.  I will be in space 66 in bay one......if that helps.

I would love it if you would stop by and just say "HI"......

Travel Folio

Hello all my crafty friends!

Folios are all the rage right now.  I've come up with my own version which I think is really incredibly cool.  You will learn a new binding system to put the small books together.

This project is super simple to put together and as an added bonus it's really material friendly!

Be sure to contact me by e-mail or phone if you would like a spot in this upcoming class.

Top Note Wire Bound Mini Album

Hello all my crafty friends!

I have a great new project ready to go for you.  This is easier than it looks.  Pre-cut chipboard and wonderful paper make is a snap to put together!

This class will be October 8th.  It will take a bit longer than my regular class time to put this together, so make sure you bring a bite to eat.

Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby tab for the supply list.

I need to address an issue that has been an on-going problem.  I hate to have to say anything at all but the issue is effecting fellow students.

Being on time and lack of materials.

It is so not fair to fellow students to make them wait while you catch up.  It really is simple....be on time!

Make sure you have all the  materials you need.  DO NOT expect to beg, borrow or buy from fellow students in the class room.  They made sure they had the materials needed and quite honestly, it puts them on the spot when you ask.  Make the time to do your  shopping and have what you need.

Okay...'nough said.  We  are all adults....make it happen!

Bits and Pieces

Hello all my crafty friends!

As most of you know, I've been super busy trying to get a display together for the Custer show in November....DONE!  Now I can move on to the fun stuff.

I have a simple mini to share with you.  This does incorporate a new binding as well as showing you how to bind different sized elements into your projects.

I tried to keep it a simple as possible.....no special tools required!  You don't need a bunch of fancy gadgets for this one.

Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby Tab for all of the details.

If you would like to attend, be sure to send me an e-mail or contact me on FaceBook

Booth display

So here is the end result of all of those bits and pieces I found in the garage.  This will be my basic set up for the booth display.  Now I need to do some hunting for some cool add-ons.  Vintage suitcases maybe? I will know it when I see it.

This was actually a bugger to set up....it's in my studio at home and it was a pretty tight fit.

My application is in....filled it out, took the photos, shoved it in an envelope, slapped the stamps on and Nathan took it to the Post office before I could change my mind.  I will know by the 29th of July if I have a spot......stay tuned!

Hello all my crafty friends!

A few of you have been "poking" me....I know I have been MIA but I have not forgotten about you.

I am busy prepping display pieces for the Custer Arts and Craft show this fall.  I have been talking about doing it, Nathan has been pushing me to do it....I'm doing it!   Well maybe....

It is an application process.  I need to send photos of my work AND my display booth.....WHAT???
OH YEAH!  I had it worked out in my head so I had to get busy with my hands and put it together RIGHT NOW.  I wasn't counting on that.  I thought I had until show time in November.....nope! The deadline in July 8th.

So you all know that I am a big fan of recycle, re-purpose and reuse.  I got dirty rummaging around in my barn and came up with some fantastic stuff to build a booth display.  After scrubbing off the grunge and dirt everything just needs a coat of paint, stain and varnish.   This is what I am starting with....

Stay tuned!

Hand Made Journal

Hello all my crafty friends,

My inspiration for this came from the Midori Traveler's Notebook I have seen all over the internet.  I wanted to make my own version that was a bit less expensive using materials I already have in my craft room....I think you will agree this is a super cute version and it really was inexpensive to make....

Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby Tab here on the blog for the details.  Please be sure to contact me directly to sign up for this class.

Tim Holtz Scrappy Book Project

Hello all my crafty friends!

I pulled out a bag of Tim Holtz scraps yesterday....it's the same bag of scraps I have been working on forever!  I'm trying to come up with creative ways to use them.

I really like the way this turned out...it was fun to create and I'm thrilled with how it looks.  I had scraps from 4 different Tim Holtz paper pads, so I tried to make them all work together.

As I put this together, I tried to limit myself to the scraps in the bag.....I did not use my die cutting machine or extra embellishments.  I did use my punch board to create the mini envelopes.

Here is version 2 using Prima Romance Novel 6x6 paper pad.

So dig through your stash and find your scraps!  You will find all the details on the Hobby Lobby Tab.

Please be sure to send me an e-mail to sign up for this class.

Gelatos Canvas

Hello all my crafty friends!

I get asked all the time about different products and mediums....how do I use this?  what is this for?

The most frequent of these is about Gelatos.  Gelatos are available in a ton of different colors and they are super affordable.

As I was planning this project, it seems that Hobby Lobby doesn't carry these any longer.  However, I did find a great selection of colors at Jo Ann's....in stock!  Michael's has a few as well.

Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby tab for all the details about this upcoming class.

Hope to see you soon!

Dapper Drawing Pad Mini Album

Hello all my crafty friends!

I am so sorry that I have been MIA....I ended up getting a really nasty flu bug.  It feels like I have been sick forever!!!!!  I did not see the inside of my work room for over a week.  I still feel tired around the edges but I'm getting there.....

Up next....this was created with the new Tim Holtz Dapper paper stack.  I did find this in town, but now it seems to be tough to locate....you will probably need to order it on-line to get your hands on it.

Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby tab for the details and supplies.....

I hope to see you soon!!!!!

MIXED MEDIA CANVAS

Hello all my crafty friends!

I know that there is a ton of info floating around on the net about "art mediums."  Most of them have been around for a gazillion years but you may have never used them...don't know what the heck they are for.....or even how to use them in your crafting projects.

This is the workshop for you to explore some of those mediums!  You will have a chance to create a really cool canvas project and learn the properties of gesso, modeling paste, gel medium and art sprays.  You will learn how use them, why and when.

Please be sure to watch both videos below....

Seating for this class is limited.....so first come, first serve. Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby Tab for all the details and the supply list for this class.

On a different note...I will be out of town until the 9th of March.  My son is graduating from Marine Corp Boot Camp in San Diego.  Perfect time for a road trip in my spiffy convertible!

I will be "unplugged" while I am gone...so the reserved seating will be according to the dates on your e-mails reserving your spot.

My next Hobby Lobby project is sooooo cute!  I really enjoyed making this.  This project incorporates a variety of different techniques, so there is a lot to learn.  Do not let the hand stitching scare you off.....it truly is a simple stitch to learn.

This can be made with anything you have laying around......it does not have to be the Tim Holtz papers.

Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby Tab for all the details!

Bo Bunny Flip Book

Hello all my crafty friends!

I get asked all the time about where my ideas and inspiration come from.  I can honestly say everywhere......and from my students.

A student sent me a video link.  She was intrigued by something she saw and asked me if we could do something like this in class.  I watched the video several times and said to myself...Hmmm....     I  asked if it was okay if I put my own spin on things and this is the result.

I hope you like it.....and it is WAY EASIER than it looks...promise!

Be sure to check the Hobby Lobby Tab for a complete supply list and class details.
