A New Journal Building Class

Hello all my crafty friends!!!!   

Looking forward to the new year, I have been asked to do some classes focusing on journal building.  After putting some thought into this, I think I have come up with a plan.

Building a book is not a "one and done" class, so this would be a series of classes for the beginner.  Classes will  focus on building spines...tools and techniques.  What signatures are and how to put them together and fun embellishing techniques.

A "starter" kit will be supplied and you will be encouraged to add your own personal touches as we build the journal.

This series will be a 4 month long commitment from you ( one day a month)  Class will be on the last Saturday of the month starting January 27th and ending with the last Saturday in April with the option of continuing into June if students need or want more time.

Class time will be 9am-3pm with a break for lunch....brown bag please.   Class time is a bit fluid, we may need more or less time depending on student need. However, due to my work schedule we will work no later than 4pm.

Cost of this series is broken up into a payment schedule.  The starter kit will be $55 on the first day of class.  Each class day after that will be an additional $25 which will include any additional materials supplied for you book.

This series does require a commitment from you to participate.  I only have a limited number of spots available for this.  I'm trying to keep class size small to better facilitate your needs in class.  Having said that, I do need a minimum of students to make this happen.  

Sign up will as always be first come, first served basis.  I am going to require a $25 non-refundable deposit to secure your spot.  This will be applied to the $55 starter kit the first day of class.

Hello my crafty friends!

Had a terrific time back in the valley at the Tulip Festival Street Fair. I was actually there for the very first one...it was called a "sidewalk sale" for all the downtown merchants in 1980. I was selling cookies and donuts running a cash register!

I chatted with quite a number of ladies who are very interested in doing a class.  I am currently looking for a meeting place do a large class instead a few smaller ones.  Trying to keep in Mt. Vernon or Burlington if I can.

Class would be June 24th and this would be an all day "one and done"....so 9am - 4pm ishness.  Project to be determined.....I'm working on it.

This would be so fun to get to meet a whole new group of talented and like minded fun ladies!!!!

                  Alice is back!

Alice in Wonderland by Stamperia is back in my studio!  This project is so darn cool....I literally love the paper.

This class will be the 21st of January in my home studio.  Class time will be 9am-4pm or so.  This will be a one and done so pretty fast paced class.  Cost of class is $75.

You will need to bring the basic tool kit and a smile!

                  FINALLY!!!!!!!

We all know that the last couple of years and been really tough.....on everyone.  So, not going there!!!  It's past time to get back into the things we all like to do.

I have a couple of classes for you, just in time for the holiday season.  This first one is so easy to build and put together.....I promise!  You will love it ..... and it would make the perfect gift for a special someone. 

This class will be in my home studio, Saturday December 3rd,  9am-4:30 ishness.  This is will be a fast paced all day class, so not the best for beginners.  Ruler 101 is a must.

The cost of class is $65.  This includes all the materials.  You will need to bring the basic tool kit.

This second class will be Saturday, December 10th for those of you who want to get your grunge on.

This class is $50 with all materials supplied to you in class. This will also be an all day project, 9am-4:30 or so and is a bit more beginner friendly. 

Both classes will be on display at the upcoming Custer Arts and Crafts show at the Spokane Fairgrounds.  The show is November 18,19 and 20.  Feel free to stop by and take a look and reserve your spot.

Seating is limited and reserved spots do require a non-refundable $20 deposit.

Alice in Wonderlands

Now that things are back "open" again.....we have the chance to get going on the Alice project.  This class is limited in size but I can always schedule more classes to accommodate everyone....till my paper is gone of course.

Studio Class

Hello all my crafty friends!!!

I know I know...been a long time since I posted anything.  My mojo just really really needed some time off and I needed to take a step back and really evaluate where things were headed for me.

I stopped doing classes at Hobby Lobby awhile back and I know that some of you are missing it....you have called me....but it really has freed up a lot of time for me to pursue other avenues.

I really thought that I was going to give up classes altogether but it's the number one question I get asked at the shows I have been doing.  So although I do not have a set studio class schedule at this point, I am planning on trying to do a few more through the year.

Going forward a non-refundable deposit will be required to secure your spot in class.  Special circumstances do arise and I understand that....but your grandkids friends cousin's soccer game is not one of them....LOL.....and yes I have heard this.

Payment can be made through PayPal, which is incredibly easy to use or payment through Face Book.  Good old fashioned snail mail with a check will work as well.  I will do my best to allow ample time for deposits to be made.  The balance will be due in class.  Deposits and cost will vary from class to class.

Little Golden Book Journal

Hello all my crafty friends!!!

Whew....I made it through Farm Chicks.  I'm really glad that I did the show, but I don't think I will be doing it again.  Although my Vintage Journals drew a lot and I do mean A LOT of attention it just isn't really the right market for me.

I have filled out an application for the upcoming Custer Christmas show.  No guarantees of getting in and  I won't know until the end of July....keep my fingers crossed.

In the mean time....I have a project share for you.  This was really fun to put together and I love the way the spine turned out...

I will be offering this as a STUDIO class coming up the end of July.  I only have 8 spots available so don't wait to get your spot reserved.   Class day will by July 27th......just give me a shout either by E-mail or Face Book....either one works.

Farm Chicks

Hello all my crafty friends!!

I am down to it now......this weekend is the Farm Chicks show.  Sat is 9-6 and Sun is 9-4.

I have had my head down just busy producing for this show....I think I can finally come up for air!

I've done a variety of different styles and size journals.  

But these are really my favorite.  I love they way they turned out.

I'm as ready as I'm going to be...wish me luck and I hope to see  you at Farm Chicks!

After much deliberation and I actually mean months of hemming and hawing, I have decided to discontinue my classes until after the June Farm Chicks show.

It took me 3 years to get up enough courage to actually apply for this show and I really want to give it my best.

My next project at Hobby Lobby is an updated version of an older project.  I really like the way this looks and feels and I think it would make a terrific "everyday" memory book.

Christmas Mini 2018

Sorry I have been MIA......I have been wrestling with the decision of whether to keep doing classes at Hobby Lobby. .....it's been a battle of back and forth in my brain.

What I have decided to do, is to do one class a month and see how things go.  Class will be on the first Saturday of the month with the exception of June.  (Farm Chicks is that weekend......and if you didn't hear, I got into the show)  June it will be the 15th.

So...here is my next project......class will be December 1st.....

Vacation Time

Hello all my crafty friends!!!

I hope that you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying the season!

Most of you know that I had planned on taking the month of August off.....well that turned into July as well.  My creative mojo really needed some time off......and I needed some time to catch up on a few things around the house and my work room.

I have talked previously about my internet provider and what a headache it has been for me to shoot and upload my construction videos.   I did everything I could to give this company the opportunity to fix the issues but I finally just gave up.  Good thing too....I finally have a provider that seems to be working great for my needs.  I'm hoping to get caught up on video that you have been waiting for.....I do apologize for that.  It has been such a hassle on my end but I finally found the end of my rainbow!

I will be UNAVAILABLE.....notice the all caps there.....August 14th-23rd.  If you need anything, please be sure to contact me before the 14th ie......video links, patterns, hints or help.  I will be back in town on the 23rd.

Nathan and I are taking a road trip......with no clear destination in mind other than the back roads out of town and into Montana.  My car is in the shop getting all dolled up for the trip!  LOL!  I am really excited to be able to just go.........

Vintage "Scrap" book project

Summer is here...I think.....sure can't tell by the weather.  I do so hope it warms up a bit more soon.

I have had so many of you tell me that you want to take a class but are unable to due to summer time stuff going on...vacations, ball games, etc.  So I have decided to take the rest of the summer off.  I will be working at home for the month of July and August.

I do have a class scheduled for the 8th of Sept.  I will be revisiting the Vintage Scrap book that many of you wanted to do but were unable to schedule the time.

Altered Book.....Vintage Style

Hello all my crafty friends!!!!

I had a great time making this new project.  I was able to use up a TON of scraps to create something really awesome!  I love the way this one turned out.

I bought a book at Dollar Tree to make this.  Doesn't get any cheaper than that!  A word of caution...make sure to check the language inside your book.....LOL.  I didn't do that and by the time that I actually noticed the bad language it was too late!  I was able to cover most of it in one way or another...... Just be sure to check your book.
